It’s been a while. Looks like I only wrote one post last month. And it was about our dying dog.
Sad!
I have been far too busy to update this blog. But I have been writing. And reading. And writing. Always with the writing.
You’d think I would have gotten further on my work. I’m sending off my final packet on Monday, and that will mark the end of my first full semester in the MFA program. It’s going to be a mad rush this weekend to complete everything.
I’m also trying to wrap up the school year with my middle schoolers. Grading tests, projects, etc. I have to do report cards and all manner of administrative tasks. So, it’s a busy, stressful time.
But after that, I’m golden! I just have to live through next week.
I read Writing Picture Books by Ann Whitford Paul, which helped me to feel slightly less isolated in my writing, and then I signed up for membership in the Society of Children’s Books Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI.)
I think I need to find a local writing group.
Hopefully I’ll be able to post some more here soon. I will definitely be checking in during my summer residency. I can’t wait for that.
Now, back to work. Are You There God, It’s Me Margaret isn’t going to read itself.
